It is the second term in office for Nigeria’s President, Mr Muhammadu Buhari. There have been complaints that his cabinet is full of old and recycled politicians. We researched the cabinet make up based on their ages. Are they made up of old people or younger people? We decided to research the topic and bring out the facts. Who is the youngest member and oldest member in the cabinet?

 

Cabinet Members by Age Group in First Term (2019) and End of Second Term (2023)

  • The average age of the cabinet at the beginning of the term was 60. At 2020, it is 61 and by 2023, it will be 64.

 

Cabinet Members by Age Group

  • Only Sadiya Faruq will remain the youngest member of the cabinet at the age of 48.
  • By the end of the tenure, and assuming there are no changes, ten of the Ministers will be in their 70s while the President is 80.
