Staggered elections are not cost effective and it is not cost efficient and it is expensive\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Changes in Cost of Elections<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Since 1999, the cost of conducting elections has increased almost ten times.<\/li>\n<li>In 2011, INEC stated that it captured the data of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inecnigeria.org\/news-all\/rejoinder-the-economics-and-logics-of-inecs-programmes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">73.5 million eligible voters<\/a> in just three weeks. Similarly, election costs have increased due to staggered elections.<\/li>\n<li>INEC estimates that there will be about 100 million voters in 2023 and has proposed 305 billion naira for the 2023 elections.
